Due to the spread of the coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) outbreak, the Trump Administration has expanded travel restrictions to foreign nationals who have traveled to Iran. Foreign nationals seeking entry into the U.S., as immigrants or nonimmigrants, who were physically present in Iran within the previous 14 days will be denied admission to the United States. This suspension does not apply to family members of U.S. citizens and permanent residents, among other narrow exceptions as outlined in the Presidential Proclamation. This restriction is similar to the suspension on foreign nationals who have traveled to China imposed by the Trump Administration on January 31, 2020.
