Starting on Wednesday, November 12th, the U.S. will increase the validity time of visas for B-1/B-2 visitors and F, M, and J students from the People's Republic of China (China will reciprocate for U.S. travelers). For the B-1/B-2 visas (for short-term business and tourist visits), Chinese applicants may now receive multiple-entry visas good for up to ten years. F, M, and J Chinese students may now receive U.S. multiple-entry visas valid for up to five years, depending on the length of their program.
This will help Chinese and U.S. citizen visitors and students traveling back and forth between the U.S. and China who will no longer have to apply for the visa and pay the fees every year. In order for Chinese and U.S. citizens who already have the single entry visa to benefit from this new reciprocal arrangement, they will need to submit a new visa application with the appropriate embassy or consulate.
